Dr Gill Hart BSc(Hons), PhD, Cert Mgmt (open), FIBMS
Dr Gill Hart is an expert Biochemist with over thirty years’ experience in the development and validation of hospital standard diagnostic tests and testing services. Gill completed her PhD in hormone assay and pituitary function in 1987, and started her career as Senior Biochemist at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. Gill subsequently worked for a number of R&D companies, being responsible for the development and validation of unique diagnostic tests and testing services for both hospital and consumer use.
Gill joined food intolerance company YorkTest in 2005 and has been instrumental in building this Food Intolerance, Food Allergy and Health Testing company to the UK market leader it is today. As Scientific Director Gill has applied her scientific and regulatory knowledge to all YorkTest services. Gill is an expert in food intolerance testing, and also consumer health testing in general. She says that “it’s an exciting time for food intolerance and home heath testing as more than ever before, people feel empowered to make a positive difference to their health and wellbeing and prevent future health issues”.

Accomplished, skilled professional HCPC registered Advanced Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion and GMP with over 25 years’ experience. Expert in GMP, GLP, QA, blood testing, manufacturing, and cellular and molecular therapies. COSHH, general risk assessment, cryogenic gases, and manual handling. Institute of Leadership and Management, IRCA Lead Auditor, Lean Cell Practitioner certificates. Extensive knowledge of, and experience in, highly regulated environments working to MHRA, JACIE, HTA, BSQR, TQSR standards, ISO15189, ISO13485 and audit.”
Phoebe Turner BSc, MBiol (Hons)
Graduate from the University of Leeds with an Integrated Master’s degree in Medical Sciences. Previously has carried out research into genetic changes in neurological disorders. At YorkTest, she is part of a team of scientists carrying out ELISA food-specific IgG testing for food intolerances, sensitivities and IgE immunoassay for food and environmental allergies.
Natasha Furniss, BSc(Hons), MSc
Graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science and a Master’s in Cancer Biology. Performed research on treatment resistant prostate cancer cell lines. Carries out both food and environmental IgE immunoassay and IgG ELISA tests for allergies and food intolerances.
