Accurate and quality assured results

Accurate and quality assured results

We have a greater than 98% reproducibility rate. This means that two separate results of the same person’s sample will correlate with each other 98% of the time.

In house testing: Quality Control Measures

The journey of your food intolerance test starts and ends in one place – our laboratory. By placing your order, dispatching your kit and processing your blood sample all in one place, we fully safeguard the stability and security of your sample.

We produce unique blood collection kits that comply with the European Medical Device Directive 2017/745/EEC (Article 22) and the European In Vitro Diagnostic Directive 98/79/EC. The blood collection kits contain CE marked components and the tests used are CE marked. The kits are also manufactured by us to maintain full control.

Food intolerance testing

yorktest was originally established in 1982 and we designed and developed our first food intolerance (food-specific IgG antibody test) in 1998.

Our continuing ethos in developing and offering the food intolerance test is as follows:-

  • To offer simple finger-prick blood collection; a small amount of blood collected using our unique “wand” system. This ensures that your sample is protected and stable during transport to our laboratory.
  • To test for all 4 subtypes of IgG to ensure that all your food intolerance reactions are detected and (more importantly) that none are missed.
  • To provide accurate, quality assured and reproducible (>98%) food intolerance (food-specific IgG) results.

We use our scientific expertise at every single step of the way from the design and production of the blood collection kits, to the development, manufacturing and quality control of the food-specific IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) tests, and the sign off of the results.

What we test

Allergy Testing

Our “in house” allergy testing service is state of the art, providing >99% reproducibility and equivalence to the food- and environmental- specific IgE antibody (Allergy) blood tests that are available on the NHS in the UK and used by allergy specialists.

Essential Health Check

Testing for 19 different health markers

Homocysteine Testing

We are proud of our unique finger-prick blood test for homocysteine levels and our patented blood collection method has been in use since 2002. Our laboratory uses the gold standard HPLC method at our York facility to accurately measure your homocysteine levels.

Other Tests

We are now expanding the range of tests and services that we offer; all of these are offered to the same high standard as our food intolerance tests.
