Symptoms: bloating, stomach pain and discomfort, constipation, nausea
Food Reactions: wheat, yeast, cow's milk, eggs

“I now feel more educated, healthy and aware of my body”

27-year-old financial officer, Abbie Dunning, was dealing with a range of unpleasant symptoms for over 10 years, since her late teens. Abbie experienced bloating, stomach pain and discomfort, constipation and sometimes sickness after certain meals.

When asked about how these symptoms affected her life, Abbie said: “It was frustrating day-to-day, I often had to rush home from meals out due to discomfort which ruined my social life. Feeling bloated and uncomfortable in certain clothing also made it hard to dress up and feel confident.”

Abbie added “I found it really difficult to eat out in restaurants as my symptoms would sometimes be worse after meals and that is something my family and friends love to do.”

Abbie heard about YorkTest from her best friend who had taken a food sensitivity test and began to see improvements since her results.

After taking the Premium Food Sensitivity Test, Abbie’s results indicated that her body was reacting to wheat, yeast, cow’s milk and eggs.

We asked Abbie how she felt after removing these trigger foods. “After just a few days I noticed I was going to the toilet much more regularly, felt less bloated and the stomach cramps stopped. Over the coming weeks my digestive system seemed to be working so much better and I had more energy all round.”

“I’m now going to the gym a lot more frequently as I have no stomach discomfort that had been putting me off. I also enjoy going out to restaurants more as I know what foods to pick and what will agree with my body.”

Our test analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like gluten and cow’s milk, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process involves sending a finger-prick blood sample back to YorkTest, Abbie then received her results within 7-days through the Wellness Hub, in an easy-to-read traffic light-based format.

Eliminating the trigger foods and sticking to her diet plan has helped clear Abbie’s symptoms, “It took just a few days to see initial improvements but within a month I felt I could barely remember how I felt before.”

When asked about her customer service experience, Abbie commented: “all of the team have been helpful throughout.”

Similarly, Abbie found her experience with the nutritional expert to be a positive one, “This was the most helpful bit in my opinion and taught me a lot about how intolerances work, what foods to avoid and how to manage my diet.”

When asked how life had changed since taking the test and how she would summarize her experience, Abbie concluded: “My life has changed in the sense that I don’t avoid certain situations now as I know I can control my foods and have the understanding needed to mitigate the symptoms so I am not restricted in my social life at all. I now feel more educated, healthy and aware of my body.”
